Buy tickets in advance for School of Music concerts in Eisenhower Auditorium and save 40%. There is no limit on the number. Purchases made the the day of the concert are not eligible. Note: Tickets purchased for this concert will also admit patrons to the Symphonic Band concert beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Conducted by director of athletic bands Gregory Drane and assistant director of athletic bands Corey Pompey, the Concert Band presents its annual spring performance. Featured repertoire includes "Chester Overture" by William Schuman, the first recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in Music, and "Serenity" by contemporary Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo.

*This year marks the 100th awarding of the Pulitzer Prizes. The first Pulitzer Prize for music was awarded in 1943 to William Schuman for his composition titled Secular Cantata No. 2. A Free Song. Penn State School of Music faculty, students, and ensembles will be performing a variety of works by Pulitzer Prize-winning composers during the 2016-17 season.
The Concert Band performs the finest in traditional and contemporary literature composed or transcribed for the concert band medium. It performs concerts in Eisenhower Auditorium. The Concert Band is open to all students, regardless of major. An audition IS required in the spring semester, but NOT in the fall. Spring semester auditions take place during the first week of classes.
