Danielle Gaudry ('09 M.M. conducting) received her D.M.A. degree in wind conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 2013, and has accepted the post as Director of Bands at California State University - East Bay.
Hailing from Winnipeg, Canada, Danielle taught band and jazz band at the high school level for seven years in Winnipeg, where she conducted several concert bands and jazz bands. For fourteen years, she served as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. She was the director of music of the Regimental Band of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles as well as the conducting instructor for the Music Division at the Canadian Forces Logistics and Training Centre. While pursuing her doctoral degree in Cincinnati, she spent three years serving as assistant conductor with the 38th Infantry Division Band, Indiana National Guard. She was also assistant director of the Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble from 2011-2013. In February 2014, Danielle will present sessions at the Ohio Music Educators Association's conference and the California Music Educators Association's conference.
She holds a B.Mus. from McGill University and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts (Wind Conducting) from the University of Calgary.
Danielle is one of two Penn State M.M.-Wind Conducting alumni who are currently serving as directors of bands in the California state university system.
