Clarinet Study

clarinet playerStudents may either study clarinet at the WWNDS100J level, including a weekly half-hour lesson for one credit ($175), or at the WWNDS110J level which includes a one-hour each week and earns two credits ($250). Lessons are typically taught by a graduate teaching assistant.

There are always more requests for lessons than can be accommodated. A list of those who have expressed an interest is maintained. Please contact Professor Anthony Costa ( to determine if you are eligible for enrollment. An audition/meeting is required during the first week of classes.

Priority for lessons is given to:

1. music majors who are studying clarinet as a secondary instrument;

2. to non-majors particpating in a School of Music ensemble;

3. to highly qualified non-major applicants.
