Invitational Orchestra Festival

Saturday, October 14, 2017

The Penn State Invitational Orchestra Festival is a one-day immersion in the art of musical performance for talented high school string players. This exciting event offers students the opportunity to rehearse and perform with members of the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Gerardo Edelstein.

The festival concludes with a concert performance at 3:30 p.m. in 128 Music Building II. Festival participants will perform in a side-by-side format with collegiate Philharmonic Orchestra members during the concert. This concert is free and open to the public.

Concert repertoire for the 2017 festival includes Rumanian Dances by Bartok, Fuga y Misterio by Piazzolla, and Tribal Warfare by Beth Bultman. Practice copies of the music are available upon request.
