Apply for the 2016 Honors Music Institute

Occurring July 17-23, the Penn State Honors Music Institute is one of the most exciting of its kind for talented high school musicians. The Institute is an intensive, week long immersion in the art of music making for talented high school students. As one of the most exciting summer music camps of 2016, specific areas of study include Chamber Choir, Piano and Wind Ensemble. Students entering 9th grade in the fall of 2016 (current 8th graders) through students who will graduate in the spring of 2016 (current seniors) are eligible to audition.

Accepted students will participate in masterclasses, private lessons, chamber music, student recitals and large ensembles. All institute participants will study with renowned School of Music faculty and acclaimed guest artists.

Students may submit audition materials for more than one area of study, but will be placed in only ONE, based on the review of the audition videos. Audition videos/applications are being accepted now! Preference will be given to audition videos/applications received by Monday, May 16, 2016. You will be notified via email regarding your acceptance/non-acceptance to The Honors Music Institute by Wednesday, June 8, 2016. All events will take place in the Penn State School of Music on the beautiful University Park campus. Students will be housed in Penn State dormitories.
