We did it! In my last welcome I asked folks to pardon our dust as we embarked on the construction of a new recital hall, and also the major renovation of Music Building I. As I write this, the paint is drying, lockers are being installed and floors are being polished. Students and faculty are walking into a major shine.
Many of you will be rehearsing in the new Esber Rehearsal Hall. Take time to enjoy the acoustics and the interior design. The sound will be glorious.
The new recital hall is almost on-line, with some interior finishes to go. Most of you will be giving your senior recital in that new space. I look forward to each and every one.
For potential students, please look at the Penn State School of Music and consider visiting the University Park Campus. We encourage students to take advantage of coaching sessions by our artist faculty and to sit in on ensemble rehearsals. This helps to establish your vision on where your music home will be for the next four years.
Penn State is a destination university for research and creative activities. The School of Music faculty and students partner with artists and researchers in many disciplines; bridging the arts and making music even more relevant in the sciences and humanities. As an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, we strive to develop quality and innovative programing for our students.
