Senior B.M. clarinet student Eddie Sundra has been named a winner of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble’s Concerto Competition. He will perform “Riffs for Lenny” from Frank Ticheli’s Concerto for Clarinet and Wind Ensemble. From Media, Pennsylvania, Eddie is a student of Anthony Costa.
In 2012, Eddie was awarded 2nd prize in the International Clarinet Association’s Orchestral Audition Competition, and he was named as a recipient of an Eleanor Beene scholarship in the School of Music’s scholarship competition held in February, 2013. He has also participated in the Eastern Music Festival with conductor Gerard Schwartz.
After graduation, Eddie plans to pursue a master's degree in clarinet performance. Besides performing, he enjoys composing in a multitude of styles. He hopes to create a website that more effectively introduces classical music to general audiences.
