Welcome to the 2020 Penn State Horn Day, hosted by the Penn State Horn Society. This year's event includes competitions, masterclasses, clinics, and an evening concert. Check out the Penn State Horn Day website for additional information.
Please pre-register using the Registration Form and bring your fee of $15 (cash) to the registration table on the day of the event.
Remember to use the High School Competition Registration Form to register for the competition in addition to registering for the overall event!
HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION
This competition is open to students grades 9-12 and winner(s) may perform in a masterclass and/or the evening concert.

Repertoire: please prepare one movement of any Mozart Horn Concerto; sight-reading will also be asked
GUEST ARTISTS AND VENDORS
The day's featured guest artists include Patrick Hughes and Laura Nelson. The Happy, Healthy Musician Workshop will be presented by Robyn Dixon Costa and Ann Fronckowiak and the Horn Choir will perform. Check out more information on guest artist HERE
Vendors include Brass Arts Unlimited, Hampson Horns, and Houser Mouthpieces.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
8:30-9:00am: Registration Open
Coffee and donuts available, for a donation
9:00-10:00am: High School competition and registration
9:30-10:00am: Guided warm up
9:45-11:00am: Alphorn with Laura Nelson, includes performance, presentation and masterclass
11:15-12:45pm: Happy, Healthy Musician Workshop with Dr. Robyn Costa and Ann Fronckowiak
12:45-1:30pm: Lunch (box lunch provided)
1:45-3:00: participant Mass Horn Choir
3:15-4:00: Patrick Hughes, high range presentation
4:15-5:30: Horn Masterclass by Patrick Hughes college/adults
4:15-5:30: Horn masterclass by Lisa Bontrager for HS and younger players
5:30-6pm, Break (snacks available for purchase)
6:00pm Final Concert featuring Patrick Hughes, Laura Nelson, Happy Valley Horn Pros, and Horn Day Horn Choirs

LOCATION AND PARKING
Location: Penn State School of Music on the University Park Campus
Parking: Parking is available at the Nittany Parking Deck, which is a short walk to the music building.
