Daniel Shevock ('15 Ph.D. music education), has been elected as the national chair-elect for the National Association for Music Education’s Creativity Special Research Interest Group (SRIG). He will serve as SRIG chair-elect for two year and then chair for two years.
Shevock is currently an instructor in music at Penn State Altoona and also serves the institution as a visiting artist in jazz. Prior to his degree work at Penn State, he taught elementary-high school instrumental and general music in the Pittsburgh public schools. A percussionist, he holds degrees from Clarion University and Towson University. Penn State faculty member Linda Thornton served as his dissertation advisor.
