Penn State Director of Concert Bands Dennis Glocke conducted the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) 2018 All-National Honor Band in Orlando, FL on November 25-28. The nation’s most elite high school musicians vied for the opportunity to rehearse and perform in the ensemble, first competing at their local, district, and state levels to become eligible for this distinguished honor. These exceptional musicians gathered at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, to showcase their expert musicianship and perform a gala concert celebrating music education and the arts.

"Being invited to conduct the NAfMe All-National Honor Band was one of the greatest honors of my career," said Glocke."The talent, dedication and commitment of these young musicians was extraordinary."  He noted with pleasure that there were a number of Penn State Honors Music Institute alumni performing in the NAfMe band and orchestra, all of whom have applied to Penn State.

Professor Glocke was spotlighted in an interview published on the NAfME website. Click here to read the complete interview text
