Congratulations to Katharine Carpenter for receiving the 2016 College of Arts and Architecture’s Alumni Society Scholarship. The scholarship was established by members of the College’s Alumni Society to recognize outstanding undergraduate students in their penultimate year of study with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Katharine is a member of the Schreyer Honors College. Her academic honors include being elected to Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. She has been on the Dean’s List every semester of her collegiate career.

A soprano, Katharine studies in the voice studio of Ted Christopher. She is a member of the Concert Choir and participates in Opera Theatre. In fall 2015, she sang the role of Melisande in Opera Theatre’s production of  Impressions of Pelleas by Claude Debussy. Upon graduation, she intends to audition for young artist programs in voice.

She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Judith Carpenter of Moorestown, NJ.
