From 2019 participants:

"HMI, no matter what program you attend, is a life changing experience. My favorite part of HMI was learning less about the notes on the page and more about the feeling of music and to look at the bigger picture of music. I would HIGHLY reccomend that anyone and everyone who has the slightest thought of keeping music in their life (and everyone should...), should participate in HMI."

“This has honestly been one of the best musical experiences of my life. Nearly every person at HMI was great, from my fellow campers who were all good and honest people whom I would love to see again, to the counselors who each added something to the experience, to last but not least, the teachers who cared so much about music you could feel it in the air. HMI, without a doubt made me a better musician and I truly feel that I will use what I have learned at HMI throughout my life regardless of whether or not I go into music.”
