Joy to the World! Penn State’s Essence of Joy presents Our Gift in Song
Penn State’s Essence of Joy invites you to join us in celebrating the warmth of tradition and the exuberance of new life through the sharing of jubilant music. Under the direction of Professor Gregg Mauroni, Essence of Joy presents a holiday delight for friends, families, and community – Our Gift in Song. Friday, December 7th at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 250 E College Avenue, State College.
You will be treated to Robert Ray’s dynamic Gospel Magnificat, Jester Hairston’s rollicking Wonderful Counselor, and Roland Carter’s sumptuous Mary Had a Baby. Our soul-stirring traditional and contemporary gospel selections proclaim Hallelujah to the New Born King with a dazzling array of choral expressivity, the hallmark of Essence of Joy. Our moving signature piece Anticipation puts a poignant finishing touch on this holiday musical gift. Hope to see you there!
There is no admission fee. We encourage you to contribute to our free-will offering; all proceeds go to Penn State THON.
